More info
Many of the examples you see so far are comic book looking. This is mostly because it is a good starting off point to approach the problem of visual story telling. There are a huge amount of materials, easily found, from which to learn from. It is also a format very familiar to the viewer.
This does not mean this is the only solution to this problem. We are looking for something to be experimental YET still interactive with a viewer. This space is not a "any thing goes because it is art" space. But more like theatre where the viewer's time and comprehension needs to be considered.
The only other constraints have to do with support material and size. This is so we can make them more consistent for storage, shipping, and hanging. Right now we are thinking that canvas (or similarly rollable material) with a max dimension of 45" on the short side and a max long side of 8'. This needs to be worked out ASAP, but the best way to work it out is to try things out, so this process is taking longer than we'd like. If you have questions about sizes we can work out a solution for these first shows.
We also like the idea of having pen-names.
more to come..
